Acrylic + Dip Powder Nail Overlays
what to consider before your appointment

At Hive + Co, we do not perform services on nails with acrylic, dip powder, or similar enhancement products. We are passionate about the health and integrity of natural nails.
What’s the Difference Between Acrylic and Dip Powder?
Acrylic and dip powders are both powder polymers used to create long-lasting nail enhancements, but they differ in how they’re applied and activated:
-
Acrylic is applied using a liquid monomer and powder, forming a paste that is sculpted onto the nail and air-dried into a hard, durable layer
-
Dip Powder is applied by dipping the nail into powder and then sealing it with a monomer-based activator or top coat that hardens

Both methods can create long-lasting enhancements. However, due to our commitment to natural nail health, we do not offer removal nor maintenance services for these products.

When you’re ready to remove your acrylic overlay, we would be happy to support your transition to an alternative—such as a Luminary structured manicure or a soft gel overlay.
